Presets
Set hours, minutes, and seconds. AlarmPick counts down to a target clock time and shows what is left. You can use this timer in the browser at no charge.
What this timer is
A timer counts down a duration you choose. It is not a stopwatch, and it does not keep going after this page is closed.
How to use it
- Enter hours, minutes, and seconds, or tap a preset.
- Press Start. Pause holds the time that is left, and Resume continues from that point.
- Reset returns to the duration you set. Full screen makes the digits easier to see from across the room.
What you can do
- Start, pause, resume, and reset.
- Presets for 1, 5, 10, 15, and 30 minutes, plus 1 hour. These are buttons on this page, not separate addresses.
- A short chime when the countdown reaches zero, and a full-screen view when the browser allows it.
Ways to use it
- Kitchen steps, workouts, and short breaks.
- Meetings, study blocks, and classroom activities where people watch the same countdown.
Accuracy and browser limits
- The countdown follows the target time. Returning to this tab corrects the display even if the browser slowed the page in the background.
- Closing the tab, quitting the browser, or letting the system stop the process means the chime will not play.
- A background tab can delay or block sound. iOS and Safari are often stricter than desktop Chrome.
- Sound usually needs a tap or click on the page first. If playback fails, the finished state is still shown.
- This is a web page, not a native alarm. Clearing site data can remove the saved timer.
Questions
What is an online timer?
An online timer counts down a length of time you choose and reaches zero at a target clock time.
Does the timer stay accurate in a background tab?
The time left is recalculated from the target when you come back. A background tab can delay the sound, but the countdown is not measured by counting screen updates.
Will the timer work if I close the browser?
No. If you close the tab or the system stops the browser, AlarmPick cannot play the sound. Opening the page again can show that the time has already passed.
Why might the timer sound not play?
Browsers can block sound until you press a control, and they can silence a background tab. The page still shows that the timer has finished.
Can I pause and resume the timer?
Yes. Pause keeps the remaining time. Resume sets a new target from that remaining time.
